The third spray used in this new product is a UV marking dye. This is used to mark the attacker and help in future identification. The dye is known to emit a UV light not detectable by the naked eye but visible when exposed to a black light. The products can spray up to 12 feet and come in sizes small enough to fit in a purse.

Law enforcement agencies have been using these sprays for ages because of their efficiency at non-violent resolutions. Although there have been complaints of victims having a hard time breathing after being sprayed and then restrained, the benefits still far outweigh the costs.
